Give the Southern Baptist pastor and seminary president, Rev. R. Albert Mohler Jr., credit for acknowledging that homosexuality has biological rather than demonic origins. But Mohler should reevaluate his suggestion to find a way to diagnose and surgically change infants found to have a homosexual orientation.

Mohler is completely right in that science is showing that a homosexual orientation has a biological origin. Some examples:

Check your PBS listings, you gotta see Bill Moyers' documentary Capitol Crimes. Jack Abramoff, Ralph Reed, Grover Norquist, Tom Delay, the whole gang in all their glory. The religious dimension of their antics is plainly presented. Dear God, if only half the religious right could watch that show.

HBO is now showing Alexandra Pelosi's documentary "Friends of God." She travels the south interviewing people from the religious right and taping their speeches. It's enlightening and frightening.
