Summit thoughts

Well, it's been almost a week since the Summit ended and I've got to say, yes, I'm nodding off in the photo from Day 2, but I swear that that doesn't mean anything!

There was a lot of positive discussion and I think a lot of opportunity for us to move forward.

I do think it's important to connect our discussion of our moral values/faith to our action in some concrete, defined terms and I look forward to working on that more in the future.

One of the things I think a discussion will eventually call for, although not yet, is the disconnect between Christians who believe that it's their duty to practice their faith themselves but not for the government to be charitable to the poor. For some reason, charity goes with faith, but the government's job is to make the laws and be the paternalistic figure, not the mother figure?

Anyway,everyone was great and I hope we all have an opportunity to work together more.
