Chris Matthews & Tom DeLay: Two Peas in a Pod.
Earlier this week Hardball’s Chris Matthew had the ethically-challenged Tom DeLay in a softball-style “interview.
On Huffington Post, Harry Shearer has the clip of an interesting outtake from the show (Link: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/harry-shearer/found-object-delay-on-ha_b_1...) The following is the transcript which essentially proves the shallowness of a phony millionaire pundit and a phony moralizing politician:
DeLay: Was it?
Matthews: Oh of course it was. We went on the air as fast as we could ... Have you seen this new focus group stuff on the candidates?
DeLay: No I haven't.
Matthews: It's great stuff!
DeLay: Really?
Matthews: I'll send it to you. It's great, it's great stuff.
DeLay: Really?
Matthews: Hillary, John Kerry, all these guys ... Frank Luntz did it. [Matthews is referring to the conservative pollster.]
DeLa: Oh, I like Frank Luntz.
Matthews: Hillary did not do well.
DeLay: Really?
Matthews: Kerry did well.
DeLay: You're kidding!
Matthews: I am not kidding. They didn't like [John] Edwards, they thought he was a rich lawyer pretending to care about poor people.
DeLay: Too slick.
Matthews: Hillary was know-it-all.
DeLay: Nothing worse than a woman know-it-all.
And these are two men who are worried about the Left being hostile to Christianity?
Didn't John Edwards talk about the forgotten working poor? Is that being "slick?
Didn't Hillary at least try to fix healthcare?
I always thought that looking after the less fortunate was the "Christian" thing to do, not pimping for the egotistically self-interested.
These two should try acting Christian themselves before throwing stones!
