Which Messages Get Through On Time? Big Companies Want to DecideDear Friend, The efforts you and other TrueMajority members have made to keep big corporations from erecting toll booths on the Internet are working. You were part of a one-million-strong wave of petitions which the Save The Internet coalition delivered in Washington recently, insisting that the Internet remain free and open. Their bill to allow more corporate control of the information flow has been stalled, and now it's time to make sure we push it all the way off the table. The bill would allow companies like AT&T, Verizon and Comcast to charge extra for some websites or e-mails to be delivered at full speed. Some companies have already abused that sort of control to censor information they don't like1. Handing over more power over the Internet is a bad idea.Call your Senators today to ask them to publicly agree to protect the Internet. The Senate leadership is trying to decide whether to bring the "Net Neutrality" issue back to the floor. Now is the time to thank the Senators who have already taken a public stand in favor of an open Internet, and ask the rest to join them.(information on Senators' positions courtesy of the Save The Internet coalition.)Lets Keep Rockin',Matt HollandTrueMajority online directorHere are more details on the Net Neutrality issue. on the Net Neutrality issue.1 - http://www.savetheinternet.com/=faq#threat
