Progressives in Support of a Positive Vision
Representatives Lynn Woolsey and Barbara Lee chair the Progressive Caucus, and are the original co-sponsors of the Common Sense Budget Act (HR 4898) which would increase federal investments by $60 billion every year for education, healthcare, energy independence, job training and world hunger – by eliminating Cold War era Pentagon weapons like nuclear bombs which do nothing to make us safe. Our military advisors, including a former CIA Director and Pres. Reagan’s Assistant Defense Secretary, tell us this $60 billion per year is being wasted and is safely available to meet other more pressing problems.

Once we build a critical mass of citizens demanding their tax dollars build strong communities and not line defense contractor lobbyists' pockets, this bill will become law.
