Left to their own devices - New Orleans in a once (and future?) great nation

A good friend went to Pas Christian during his spring break from teaching to lend a hand.

His stories were amazing to me - how left to their own devices the people of the Gulf Coast were. I had grown up thinking of the United States as a great nation - but David's stories made us seem more like Oz - our president behind the curtain pulling false levers ...

Time to move past this era and step back up
