Action Alert: Let President Bush know why he is isolated

Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about take account of+e --> these things.-- Philippians 4:8  Time Magazine’s lead story this week is entitled “Bush’s Lonely Election Season: How the election became a referendum on an isolated President” Reflection can be a good thing.  After next week's election President Bush will have a new Congress to work with. Voters will decide the makeup of that Congress, but the President must decide how he will invest his remaining time in office. We believe the President and Congress have an opportunity to engage their energies to advance the cause of peace, eradicate poverty, and heal the planet.  Much good can be accomplished in two years.  We believe four issues in particular deserve his immediate attention:  the Iraq War, the genocide in Darfur, creating a living wage for all, and healing Planet Earth. Here is an opportunity to let President Bush know what YOU believe his priorities should be as he and the new Congress prepare their agenda for the nation for next two years. We are offering TWO ways of contacting the President:  Go here to send an email or record your own voice message.   Emails will be sent directly to the White House.  Voice messages will be compiled onto CDs and sent to the President AND shared on FaithfulAmerica.org.   We're providing some discussion points to get you started, focusing on four critical issues. From the tragically escalating genocide in Darfur to the growing military and humanitarian crisis in Iraq; from ending poverty wages to healing the planet, our national leaders have the power to do so much for so many. Let us speak out as people of faith and conscience about the direction WE want the President to take us in the remaining years of his presidency.   Writing or speaking our minds is not only our right as Americans, it is our calling as people of faith and conscience.  In the Biblical creation story, the creator SPOKE the world into being. May this be for you a pivotal opportunity to help call into being a safer, healthier, and more loving and liveable world.    Blessings to you,Vince Isner and the FaithfulAmerica.org  team We believe the President and Congress have an opportunity to engage their energies to advance the cause of peace, eradicate poverty, and heal the planet.
