why are conservatives so angry all the time?
why are conservatives so angry all the time? this is a question I've been asking myself ever since i turned on fox news a couple of weeks ago and saw these screaming mad angry right wingers yelling over what Sean Hannity says is an attempt by liberals to shut conservatives up. but why is he so mad all the time? Michael Moore says it's because they know that the American public doesn't agree with them on the issues they stand for, is he right? is it because they are now becoming a minority in the face of an American public that s fed up with neoconservatives and the way they try to run the country? or is it because the American public has grown tired of the obnoxiously rude style of these fox news journalists? just what has got these people so mad?

Now I am Laughing
Now you made me laugh. Now that you mention it, many Fundies do seem to be obese. Aren't we terrible?
Keep laughing
Laughter is great medicine and like good sex; a great release.
Jesus and the ancient prophets all used sarcasm and cutting wit to wake up their audience in order to make their point.
And so, I offer you all this:
In 1968 Chicago Abbie Hoffman spoke to the children of the '60's who had planned on spending the night in a city park after their long day of 'lobbying' at the Democratic Convention.
Mayor Daly sent word to Abbie that the multitudes were not welcome in his park and the cops were on the way in.
Before the Chicago mob with badges clobbered the heads of the children of the '60's, Abbie stood at a microphone and quoted Christ:
"I send you out like little lambs into a wolves den. Remain as harmless as doves and cunning as snakes."
If the doves had consulted Webster's, they first would have had a laugh at the two words cunning is sandwiched between.
Then they would have learned that cunning means one must be skillful, clever, sly, crafty, and do things with skill and ingenuity. To be cunning is to be attractive; cute and cleverly proficient.
The doves lacked cunning and thus got there heads clobbered in-and thus many hippies were transformed into yippies:
the only requirement being a baptism via billy-clubs.
Our challenge in the 21st century is to liberate Jesus from the right wing ideologues who have transformed The Prince of PEACE:
into an empire builder and judgemental false god.
How will we do it?
It will take cunning, desire and laughter!

Psycho-sexual Spiritual comment on Conservatives
Here is an idea that will probably be considered a little off the wall by many but I will throw it out there anyway.
Could conservatives be angry because they are sexually frustrated, confused, and ridden with fundamentalist guilt, all of which all results in anger?
A recent example of fundamentalist psychology , Rev Haggard, the anti-Gay rights, Gay man. His head must have been ready to explode.
I was a mental health Social Worker for years and I learned that when a new client started making a lot of homophobic comments and going on and on about he hated Gays, there were always self hate issues and guilt over homosexual feelings to deal with.
The public crucifiction of Bill Clinton over his affair with Monica, another example of conservative anger associated with sex.
I know the Republicans where trying to bring Bill down anyway they could, but they found an audience. There were millions of frustrated angry conservatives obessing over Bill's sexual indiscretion. which probably means, absolutely nothing is happening in their sex lives.
So many Conservatives are religious fundamentalists and they are just so hung up on guilt and sex. I am with the thinkers that put out the theory that one of the reasons Fundies are so anti-choice and anti-birth control is that the idea of free sexually emancipated women ,women that can have sex without the fear of pregnancy, scares them.
Maybe Conservatives just need some love! That is why they are so angry!! Yuk Yuk Ho HO
Dear Jim, you made me LOL

I have thought the same as you many times before-
especially when ever I have sat in the back of a church and noticed all the
HUGE butts in front of me
or have seen John Hagee on TV. for
GLUTTONY is a sin too!
We Christians all agree that God is LOVE; and where there is love: God is present.
So, why not accept that the way any two share, give and take love:
God is there and what goes on behind closed doors, is nobody else's business.

My guesses:
I don't know why they have always been so angry but I have a good idea why they're particularly angry now. Their world is crashing down on them every day on the front pages of the newspapers. The Iraq War is a complete disaster. Global warming is developing into a true threat that they're on record as trivializing.
The real tragedy of the global warming issue is that conservative Christians fail to see that Jesus was right. Jesus told us to store our riches in heaven. Instead we're driving larger cars than we need, living in larger homes than we need, and buying more stuff than we need (only to keep in storage units). All of this is driving global warming and, according to the World Health Organization, causing about 150,000 deaths each year. Jesus warned us over and over and over about materialism and greed. Jesus was right. (On the other hand, he never mentioned homosexuality.)
Also, anger is definite part of the conservative program. If you watch Friends of God or read What's the Matter with Kansas?, you see that railing against Hollywood and liberals is their first step in rallying the troops.
I also understand that right is now unhappy with Bush's performance. Which I don't really get since he's hardly deviated from conservative doctrine. The only deviations I'm aware of are the No Child Left Behind Act and the Faith-Based Initiatives programs, the Christian parts of his agenda.
(While we're talking here - As for the past, I've always thought that Clinton's most grievous, sacrilegious sin was to demonstrate that taxes can be raised while producing a booming economy.)
