From the conference: when's the next conference?

When’s the next big conference? Scott Paeth says, a year from now at Chicago. Middle America, the Democratic tradition, a plethora of seminaries associated with progressive politics. CrossLeft is interested in helping with the organization. We need other organizers, partners, and in particular, fundraisers, grant writers, and sponsors.

Summits/Conferences, etc.
While we're still targeting having a next big conference October 2006, there have been several activities since the last conference.
Two of note that I was fortunate enough to participate in were the Progressive Christian Leadership Summit, Feb. 2006 (about 50 Progressive Christian Leaders in Attendance) and the SCUPE conference, March 2006 (about 500 Christians working in Urban Ministry).
As a follow up to the Summit-
We've been talking to several other progressive Christians across the nation over the course of the last few weeks, sharing the results of the summit- now it's time for all of us to come together & discuss next steps- those of us that were there & those of us that weren't and that have become involved only recently over the course of the last two months.
We know that we will *still* probably not have everyone involved that we need to but we hope to continue the conversation live, as a community, by way of conference calls by the second week of April. & we continue to extend an open invitation to other Progressive Christians that would like to help and be involved. If you are interested please let me know by sending an e-mail to kety@crossleft.org
Our point of departure will be the Strategic Action Plan that came from the Summit-

With regards to SCUPE, it was a phenomenal experience to be in communion with so many Christians focused on Urban Ministry. So much to blog & podcast about. I've even started writing poetry again. =-) Stay tuned, I'll be uploading several of the SCUPE plenary speeches to CrossLeft, by way of podcast, over the course of the next week.
