Speaking of getting through to the media...
I post my own internet gleanings for grassroots strategies for getting media attention at my del.icio.us activism page.
There are a bunch of grassroots mass-mailers to local newspapers and radio stations. Although, as we now know from our conference experience, mass-mailing gets very little reaction (duh), whereas targeting journalists one can give time and conversation to gets one a lot further.
Local relationships: it all comes back to social networks.
Write to your local paper as a concerned Christian or clergymember of a particular place.
Write regularly to journalists whose work you read about your view as a progressive Christian activist.
I should definitely be doing more of that.
We all should.
Also, attached, here, is a very good little pamphlet with some basic information from the Interfaith Peace guys in LA.
