Action Alert: Pivotal Vote for the Planet

Within the next 24 hours the U.S.
Senate will decide whether or not to increase fuel economy standards in cars for
the first time in 30 years. This would be an important first step to lowering
our greenhouse gas emissions. We need you to voice your support TODAY to protect
God's creation. 
As people of faith and conscience, we are called to be responsible
stewards of God's creation and join in the restoration of the world's
brokenness. God's beloved Earth is being damaged by human-caused global warming
and air pollution, and now is a critical time for us to sow a vision of a more
sustainable society and address global warming.
Please take action today!
 Call your Senators and ask them to help
protect the integrity of God’s creation and support a significant increase in
fuel economy standards and oppose any amendments to the Energy Bill such as the
Pryor-Bond-Levin amendment that would substantially weaken the fuel economy

Ask the operator to connect you to your
Senator's (visit www.senate.gov to determine your Senators).
Ask to leave a message for the Senator.

script:
 
"My name is ______ and I am calling from
(city, State). I would like to urge Senator _______ to support legislation that
will significantly increase fuel economy standards and help curb global warming
and air pollution. As a person of faith, I believe that God calls us to protect
the integrity of creation, especially when global warming and air pollution will
affect those living in poverty the most. I ask that the Senator oppose any
amendment such as the Pryor-Bond-Levin amendment that would substantially weaken
fuel economy standards. Thank you for your time."
