On The Record Campaign Petition

More than 53,000 ONE members have signed the On the Record campaign petition, which asks the presidential candidates to do just that—go on the record on camera and in writing to talk about their plans to end extreme poverty and global disease.

This weekend, ONE volunteers in places like Dover, New Hampshire, Des Moines, Iowa, Columbia, South Carolina and Las Vegas, Nevada braved the late fall chill—well, maybe not in Las Vegas—to deliver your petitions directly to the candidates and their campaigns.

Read their stories, watch video and see pictures of the delivery here:

ONE members have delivered. Now, we wait for the candidates to deliver. But we're not waiting quietly. While your petitions were passed along by hand to the candidates, we ran newspaper ads in the critical early states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada.

Make no mistake, there is a direct correlation between the specific policy objectives we get from the candidates today and the actions one of them will eventually take in the White House. By getting all of them on the record, we'll raise the profile of these issues and pressure on our leaders to take action.

Right now there is a special opportunity to go on camera and talk directly to the presidential candidates about issues like hunger, clean water and getting drugs for killers like HIV/AIDS and malaria to the people who need them.

CNN and YouTube are teaming up to host a nationally televised Republican presidential candidate debate—with a twist. This time the questions will come from you. Check out how you can record a question for the GOP candidates here:

Together, we'll keep pushing the candidates to go on the record, until we have their detailed positions on our issues in writing, on video and maybe even on CNN and YouTube.

The Iowa caucuses are only six weeks away. This is our chance to get the next President of the United States to make commitments that will save lives and redefine America's role in the world.

Thank you for your voice,
