Sorry Jim,
I thought we had agreed not to post the # and access code.

Put it on the Agenda
We can put it on the agenda. We haven't had a problem so far. Until we have problems I am leaning towards don't make it hard to get on and talk.

let's make a start
I would like to see us make a start at developing a CrossLeft platform of issues and opinions we believe.
I think the easiest (and most inclusive) way of doing so is to open topics on all the different issues we feel are important, then start discussion at the broadest statements we feel we all can agree on. Let the discussions roll on, then when we hit areas we see differently, take a step back and write that platform plank with the last we all agreed on.
I'd like to have a whole category in the discussion forum made to start developing a platform in. I think a list of what we believe and why would be a good thing to develop before August.
August
Janet, what is the significiance of August?
Uhhh my daddy will be 82?
The 19th, mark your calendars. :)
Seriously, I said August because I feel that we need our favored platform planks in place and well-distributed before the party conventions. And "end of July" just sounded way sooner than "August."
But of course I meant more towards the first part of August. Don't know about you, but I don't start working until a deadline is looming. So I felt like I had to set one. Now figuring out our positions on various issues feels urgent. Nothing's really changed, other than a nobody said an arbitrary date out loud. And that works for me.
Right on Janet!
This is exactly the intent of the call. There is a lot of juice being generated of late, so let's to where we are divinely guided to go with it. Reframing the national debate on many topics can provide our nation with some much needed guidance. I believe we have all been guided here to serve our nation in these "days that try men's and women's souls".
Jim will be the moderator. Note taking and sharing is heartily encouraged.
