 Daniel Ellsberg, whistle-blower of government secrets to the media in "The Pentagon Papers" during the Vietnam War, remains a leading voice of moral conscience on the dangers of the nuclear era and the urgent need to end government secrecy and lies. He received the international Right Livelihood Award "for putting peace and truth first, at considerable personal risk, and dedicating his life to a movement to free the world from the risk of nuclear war." His new book is Secrets: A Memoir of Vietnam and the Pentagon Papers. Daniel is a former U.S. Marine with a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard; he worked for the Rand Corporation and the U.S. Departments of Defense and State. Learn more: www.ellsberg.net
 Robert Ellsberg , publisher and editor-in-chief at Orbis Books brought forward books essential to faith-based, social justice work. In June 2006 Orbis won 18 awards from the Catholic Press Association. Robert himself has authored award-winning books, including The Saints' Guide to Happiness and All Saints: Daily Reflections on Saints, Prophets, and Witnesses for Our Time, and Blessed among All Women. He began his career as managing editor of The Catholic Worker, working with Dorothy Day. He holds a Masters Degree in Theology from Harvard Divinity School. |
