Minutes Crossleft Call

We decided to put the rating stars back on the site as a means of people expressing their appreciation. Several bloggers do like them, a few don’t, and many don’t care one way or the other, so for now we are just going to go ahead and run them again.
We are going to rotate the days of the Crossleft conference calls. There is just no one day that can accommodate everyone. So by rotating we can perhaps get people that otherwise couldn’t participate because of schedule conflicts, to get in on the call. The call days will probably be Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, with plenty of advance notice. Wednesdays and Fridays are almost universally not preferred for a call day.
It is full speed ahead with a Crossleft platform and this ties into us being politically active for the upcoming election. We want to look at our original platform for continuity and consistency and we want to link with other politically active religious groups. We had some discussion about whether or not we will endorse a candidate. I did have some input from someone who could not make the call, that they prefer we stick to issues and not endorse candidates. Our 501© 4 status was discussed and the limitations on just what that means as to what we can and can’t do it matters of political involvement. Ideally we will have our platform completed before the conventions. Having a solid platform may help us with fundraising. It was brought up that there are Christian groups for Obama already operating, including a group called “Matthew 25 Network” but we made no decision to plug into anything as a group.
Crossleft was incorporated in California and we resolved the issue on having a California contact person and address in California.
