Action Alert: Business as usual?

Global warming isn't just a problem for glaciers and polar bears. It's a problem for businesses too. Economists are warning of dangerous consequences for the business climate if the effects of global warming are as serious as predicted.

But local business owners don't have to sit back and be quiet. As members of the community, they have an important role to play in getting Congress to take action on global warming. So to make sure that Congress knows that local businesses across the country are ready for real action on climate change, we're launching the "Businesses for a Safe Climate Petition."

To make this a success, we need your help to get as many businesses as possible to sign the petition. Here's what you can do:

1) If you own a business, list it now.

2) Don't own or represent a business? No problem. You can help recruit businesses from your community! Simply download the Businesses for a Safe Climate Recruitment Kit today and starting getting businesses in your community to sign-on to the petition.

We'll be keeping track of all the businesses that sign-on on the website, and then we'll be using these signatures at rallies across the country in August. Members of Congress need to hear from every corner of the communities they represent. Make sure the businesses in your community are represented and start collecting signatures today.
