Theology Panel: New Convener - Our next call Tuesday 9/16

I am very excited to announce that the Rev. Roger McClellan, founder of the Progressive Christian Alliance (PCA), in Anniston, AL has agreed to assume the role of
Convener for the proposed IPC Theology Panel. Like many of us here he has traveled an enligthening spiritual journey, starting from a Southern Baptist family in rural Alabama. I'll let him share more of his facinating journey as he is so inclined.

The PCA now has congregations and/or pastors in 5 states and 1 foreign country, and a nationwide network of allies.

As I wish to help build CrossLeft, moving forward with creation of a Board, obtain its 501 c 4 tax status and concentrate on getting it and the IPC funded I am very pleased to pass the baton to a CL member whom I have gotten to know and trust over the past months.

Please join me in welcoming Rev. Roger as he accepts the baton. Personally I gain great pleasure in helping new folks move into more responsible positions. I will continue to enjoy particpating in panel activities assisting Rev. Roger where I can.

Rev. Roger will publish a proposed agenda in the next few days, prior to our Tuesday Sept. 16th call.

Congratulations Rev Roger

Congratulations Rev. Roger, I am sure he will do a great job.He just may be the perfect person for the job.

Do we have a time for the 16th? I want to put it on my "To Do" calendar so I won't miss it.

Next call Theology Panel changed to Tuesday the 16th, 8:30 EDT

Jim,
Roger found out Monday nite that his choir voted to meet each Monday until Christmas, to rehearse their holy day music.

We'll move to the 3rd Tuesday, rather than 3rd Monday.

With the good Reverend at the helm I can assure you our discussions will be lively and in depth. I just love his brand of progressive Christian thought, and action. When he and his wife of 18 years Melissa found their spiritual journey not satisfying, not fulfilling their idea of why Jesus came, they decided, "If you can't find a church you like, then bulid your own!". Now he and many others have the Progressive Christian Alliance thru which to express their theology and conduct their actions, following the example they believe Jesus set.

Like our last call, our future calls promise to be lively, deeply engaging, personally challenging and very educational. Somewhere in the not too distant future we may be taking on the IRD and Opus Dei. Then things should get VERY lively!

Our agenda is not yet set, but I can promise you this, it will be very engaging!
