Jesus Says Lou Dobbs is a Goat

This morning I received an email from a dear friend with the attached video of Lou Dobbs talking about certain features of an immigration bill being considered. Check out the video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxwR26HnW5s

Here is my response to my friend and this editorial...

Dear friend,

I am not familiar with the legislation that Dobbs is referring to. I am familiar with this man's rabid hateful position he takes on the idea of any form of amnesty for the illegals living in the shadows of our land. So, I am skeptical of his ability to present a fair or truthful editorial on this matter.

The truth is, amnesty in some form is the only workable solution to what we currently face. Estimates of upwards of twelve million men, women and children are currently here living and working illegally. Some, like Lou Dobbs, advocate rounding them all up and sending them back to wherever they came from or even imprisoning them. On the surface that might seem like the best thing, but it would not only be impractical, but impossible and inhumane.

Miami is a city of around five hundred thousand. Imagine trying to round up every single person in twenty four U.S. cities the size of Miami. First, the fact that these people are not totally localized in any one place, but scattered throughout the nation means the investigative manpower to locate and then incarcerate twelve million folks is not possible. Secondly, where the heck would you put all these people while processing their deportation? Would we build new prisons for families to be detained in? Would we load them in box cars and carry them back south of the border? How much would all of that cost?

There are numerous myths that people like Lou Dobbs perpetuates about the cost to American taxpayers caused by these illegals. Does he ever mention that most of them have to use bogus social security numbers to work here? All of their payroll deductions go straight to the treasury and not one penny of of it is ever filed on because they are illegal. This amounts to billions of taxes paid by the illegal workers. They do the jobs that no citizen ever wants, needs or applies for.

After watching this video, I can assure you that if it contains those provisions that it will never even be voted on much less become law. The reason why? Because people like Lou Dobbs, Rush Limbaugh, etc. have worked the common citizens of America into such a state of hysteria about illegal immigrants through this kind of propaganda that we have reached an impasse that will never be resolved.

I believe it is time for Christians to begin to speak to the issue from the Bible and the very heart of the Father. Jesus will say to some, "I was a stranger and you did not take me in." He then will separate the sheep from the goats. According to Jesus, Lou Dobbs is a goat.
