Blog of Daniel
Last night, NBC premiered the "Book of Daniel," a new primetime serial to handle the life of an Episcopal priest and father, whose family is handling all the great issues of the day, including homosexuality, marijuana, premarital sex, Alzheimers, broken marriages, psychiatric drug abuse, and interracial relationships. Daniel, the priest, talks through these issues with Jesus, while meantime haggling through the hassles of vestry politics and pushy church donors.
The Episcopal Diocese of Washington has done an excellent job of getting real church commentary covered alongside the show.
Rearing with live comments already is the Diocese's online commentary to the Book of Daniel, the Blog of Daniel:
The LA Times has covered both in an article which quotes CrossLeft hero the Reverend Susan Russell.
As Technorati shows, the blogosphere goes wild with kudos.
Progressives are righteously indignant at the extent to which American news media represents Christians as necessarily conservative, Republican, and mindlessly opposed to intelligent investigation. As a movement, one of our major goals is to reverse this trend.
The Episcopal Diocese of Washington scores the CrossLeft Blue Ribbon in Media Hacking Excellence. Congratulations to the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, whose efforts shine a lamp to guide us!
