George W. Bush

SORRY, GEORGE, I NEED MORE!

By Dr. Linda Seger, author Jesus Rode a Donkey: Why the Republicans Don’t Have a Corner on Christ

George W. is going to give us back some money in May – perhaps as much as $300 or $600 or $1,200. He thinks that this will make up for his failed economic policies. But isn’t this similar to a giving a band-aid to a child who needs a $30,000 operation?

George W. is not giving us enough. Maybe he needs to truly pay us what he owes us. Perhaps a letter will explain it to him.

2008 State of the Union Discussion

let's discuss tonight live....

Michael Gerson's Odd Stem Cell Spin

This was originally posted at Talk to Action.

This past week it was reported that stem cell researchers may have uncovered a technique that would create embryonic stem cells without the use of embryos or Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer Research. Thus it is no surprise that in the Washington Posts's November 23, 2007 edition, Michael Gerson hails the recent discovery in stem cell research as "a vindication" of President George W, Bush's policy of obstructing the pursuit of sound science.

But Gerson is hardly objective.

Action Alert: Stop Bush's Coverup

President Bush is pressing the Senate to help him cover up his illegal wiretapping, and the Senate may well go along with his plan if they don't hear from you right away. 1

Here's what's going on: For years the Bush administration has been illegally spying on Americans' phone calls and emails with the willing assistance of big telecom companies like Verizon and AT&T. Lawsuits moving forward against these companies may be the only way we ever find out how far the Bush administration went in breaking the law.2

So the White House is putting enormous pressure on Congress to give the phone companies retroactive immunity for all the laws they broke spying on innocent Americans. And some key Democrats are ready to go along!

Can you help us reach 250,000 signatures on this petition demanding that Congress reject the president's cover-up? The petition text is in the blue box on the right. Clicking the link below will add your name.

George W. Bush does more evil.

This morning George W. Bush vetoed an expansion of health insurance for the children of this country. Its hard not to get angry. In fact, I'm angry as hell. This guy has never known want in his life. He has never dealt with the stress of living without health insurance or worse yet, without your child insured. Bush has never had to deal with the perverse set of questions that arise from a lack of health insurance:
- Should you take your child in to the hospital or not?
- How bad does it have to be before you go?
- How will we pay? Could we even pay?
- Will we have to declare bankruptcy?
- What if a parent becomes terminally ill?

Many progressive people of faith do no not necessarily even believe in Hell. I think I do. There may opportunities for redemption even after death, but I believe in a just, but forgiving God. The evil that this man continues to do strikes me as the type of thing that might earn a first class ticket right into the gates of Hell.

Bush: "We're kicking ass in Iraq"

Yep, Bush said so in Australia the other day.

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2007/09/07/bush-on-iraq-were-kickin...

What a complete fool! Is that a Christian thing to say? Our brave soldiers die every day with many Iraqi citizens, and we're kicking ass? This isn't a video game George, these are real lives.

Evolution Revolution: The Beatitudes for the 21st Century

"While Governments can make a difference, in the final analysis it is the individual – that is each one of us – that will bring the dream of a nonviolent world to reality. We, the people must think and act nonviolently. We must not get stuck in the past as to do so will destroy the imagination...To change our world we need a spiritual and a political evolution."-Irish Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Maried Maguire.
