Why McClellan's Coming Clean Is Important
Submitted by Stephen Rockwell on Tue, 06/03/2008 - 11:40Last week, partisans from both sides of the aisle seemed to suggest that Scott McClellan's new tell all book was insignificant and somehow did not speak well of the man. From the Right, the talking points went out and we heard things from "puzzled" to much worse in Senator Dole's comments: "There are miserable creatures like you in every administration who don’t have the guts to speak up or quit if there are disagreements with the boss or colleagues. No, your type soaks up the benefits of power, revels in the limelight for years, then quits, and spurred on by greed, cashes in with a scathing critique." Rather talking about the issues raised in the book, the attack machine pointed the barrels at their former native son.
On the Left, the general criticism was "too little, too late" questioning why he didn't speak up during his years in the White House when it could have done some good. These criticisms are fair, but we ought not look a gift horse in the mouth. I agree with Jim Ramelis that there's very little new in what the former Press Secretary said (http://www.crossleft.org/node/6252), but I do believe the fact of who was discrediting the warmaking enterprise is extremely important.
The Biblical Book of Job Reveals A God Of Love
Submitted by NancyDetweiler on Tue, 04/29/2008 - 13:47The biblical book of Job reveals a God of Love
Job is an extremely symbolic narrative of the Broad Path back to God. (Jesus revealed the Narrow Path through the major events in his earthly life—see my blog entitled “Ascension.”) Lesson 16 of my book is an example of a metaphysical interpretation focusing on the hidden wisdom beneath the surface words. For free, you can download my entire book from my website: www.pathwaytoascension.com.

Scripture Reading for this Lesson: Job 42:11-17
Jesus taught: “Your father is pleased to give you the kingdom.” 320 Job is now aware that the kingdom of God is synonymous with a higher level of consciousness.
Heretofore, Job felt separated from and powerless before a God that was hidden. This hidden God was unpredictable, prone to anger, and liable to strike human beings with all sorts of diseases and to deprive us of our basic needs. Formerly, Job knew only what he heard about God. Now that he could see and speak with Him, Job realized how incorrect his concept of God had been. Instead of striving to lift our consciousness to a higher plane, humanity anthropomorphizes God. The result is a God that must be feared because no one knows when we, like Job, will be walloped with “the thing that we greatly fear.” 321

Bible Interpretation - Looking for the Hidden Wisdom in Job
Submitted by NancyDetweiler on Mon, 04/28/2008 - 14:01The biblical book of Job is an excellent example of the need to search for the hidden wisdom beneath the surface words. I have found that a study of metaphysics, including esoteric astrology and numerology, is essential to reading the Bible at the level of the hidden wisdom. Below is an excerpt from Lesson 15 of my book, “Where Are You, God? A Metaphysical Interpretation of the Biblical Book of Job.” For free, you can download the entire book on my website: www.pathwaytoascension.com.
In my view, much harm has occurred as a result of a literal interpretation of this most important book. Our concept of “God As Love” withers, unless we seek the hidden wisdom in Job. As our planet moves into the “Shift of the Ages” (Gregg Braden), exploring the inner depths of the Bible will be a source of enlightenment and healing for many.
Scripture Reading for this Lesson: Job 42:1-11
Job is now a 5th degree Initiate. He looks back at his old way of life and recognizes the error thinking that predominated. As a result of his erroneous thought patterns and ignorance of Truth, Job was brought to his knees in anguish. God did not inflict the pain. Instead, Job’s suffering was the external manifestation of his own inner dis-ease.

USS LIBERTY Survivors agree: "It Was God That Kept Us Afloat"
Submitted by www.wearewideaw... on Sat, 12/29/2007 - 21:39Remember LIBERTY?
Part 1 in a Series: "It Was God That Kept Us Afloat"
It was the events of THAT DAY we call 9/11 that woke this pampered physician's wife up to the fact on the ground that people in the world hated the U.S. so much, that they would target and murder innocent Americans.
I did not react with fear, but curiosity. I did not want to shop as President Bush encouraged us all to do if we wanted to help. I wanted my questions answered and the MSM was not asking them and Congress was not demanding them.
Seven years ago, I was your typical uninformed, misinformed American, but with diligence and persistence I have learned much. But, it was not until June 2005 and my first journey to the Little Town of Bethlehem: Occupied Territory did my rage erupt against the empire; the American governments allegiance to Israel's Military Occupation of Palestine.
'Flaming' Fleming and a Christmas Arrest in Jerusalem
Submitted by www.wearewideaw... on Wed, 12/26/2007 - 15:05I wrote the following last night for the WAWA Blog Dec. 26, 2007. In this morning's email was this message from Vanunu.
PS- In 1986, Vanunu a secular Jew converted to Christianity just days before being kidnapped by the Mossad and spending 18 years in jail for telling the world the truth that Israel was already nuclear.
Bad news, Dec. 25 th. The police come to the American Colony to arrest me. I was meeting a young German girl who wanted to know more about my story. They took us to the police questioning me, hold me until midnight 24:00. Not so impresive all this again arrest. I think the police was waiting for my arrest in Beet Lehem, since I did come to B L. they found new reason to arest me. Any way life will continue as I am doing all the Time.

On Christmas Eve evening I picked up my mail and opened up a card from Jerusalem sent to me by Mordechai Vanunu. He made me laugh out loud, for he addressed it to: "Eileen Flaming" not Fleming, which is my actual name.
But, upon reflection, I think Vanunu has renamed me well; for I am flaming over the hypocrisy and injustice of empire and apathy and ignorance of good Christians who have no eyes to see, ears to hear, or hearts that bleed for the poor and oppressed in the Holy land and the entire Middle East.
Praying for rain
Submitted by wpeltz on Sat, 12/01/2007 - 07:49Sonny Perdue, the Governor of drought-stricken Georgia, caused a bit of a stir a couple of weeks ago by holding a public prayer meeting to intercede with God for rain. His prayers on the Capitol steps in Atlanta, along with those of Christian clergy, were heard by hundreds of Georgians, including many state legislators. (http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-rain14nov14,1,57982...)
One Methodist minister prayed "We've been so busy industrializing that we've forgotten how to spiritualize. We've been so busy with our economy and what we can have and what we can possess that we've forgotten that you possess it all. Great God, this is your land. We till it for you. We are entrepreneurs for you, dear God." As if in response, an entrepeneur who had traveled from New York for the event distributed leaflets promoting his company's Wataire Atmospheric Water Generator, a device to make pure filtered water from the air. Thanksgiving Day: JFK, Israel, Vanunu, Tom Paine and Doing Something
Submitted by www.wearewideaw... on Wed, 11/21/2007 - 00:52On a Friday afternoon in Levittown, Long Island my fourth grade best friend, Kat and I took our time getting home on November 22, 1963.
It was eerily quiet and calm in the streets and not until Phil passed us by on his bicycle and yelled, "Kennedy has been shot!"
Did I even have a clue as to why nobody else was outside.
Six days later after that day that changed the world as I had known it, on Thanksgiving Day, LBJ took the oath of office standing next to a very distressed widow and announced that Florida's NASA Launch Operation Center would be renamed the John F. Kennedy Space Center and he asked the public to remain "determined that from this midnight of tragedy we shall move toward a new American greatness."
Zion's Zealots
Submitted by www.wearewideaw... on Thu, 11/08/2007 - 02:01Zion's Zealots
[Miami, Fl. November 6, 2007] The James L. Knight Center was packed to the rafters with John Hagee's tribe of Christian Zionists and south Florida's right wing Jewish community. Zion's Fire Banners, dancers, singers and a band whipped the crowd into a frenzy of spinning, jumping, clapping, twirling and moved the rotund Hagee to link arms with men in skull caps and dance the Hora-not to Hava Nagila, but to repeated choruses of:
Shout for joy and victory! Bat Yerushalyim
From one end of the stage to the other, the largest American and Israeli flags I have ever seen were draped side by side and by the end of the evening I imagined every star on the red-white-and blue had morphed into the Star of David.
Miami-Dade County Commissioner Joe Martinez pointed to the flags and exclaimed: "Isn't that beautiful up there together? I get goose bumps! All nations have been created by an act of man, except Israel was created by an act of God."

VETERANS + JUSTICE: USS LIBERTY
Submitted by www.wearewideaw... on Wed, 10/31/2007 - 00:27Retired US Navy Chaplain, Ron Kukall said:
"On June 8, 1967 during the Vietnam War, I was aboard a Navy vessel called the USS LIBERTY. This unarmed ship was sailing the waters off the coast of Israel during the "Six Day War"…It may be possible that the only reason God saved the LIBERTY was so that we could tell our story.
"The ship was sailing 15 miles off the coast in international waters when the Israeli Defense Force attacked her. She was subjected to torpedoes, 50 caliber machine gun fire, napalm, and rocket fire. There was over 800 holes in the LIBERTY after the attack, she was listing about 10 degrees to the starboard, and was on fire in many places.
"Thirty-four men were killed and close to 70% of the crew were wounded, of which I was one.
"For what seemed like an eternity… many miracles [occurred] during, and after the attack."
